Biography

State of the sub

Back in January 31st 2013, a subreddit that now goes by the name r/coaxedintoasnafu was created, and with it a thriving community was born. The subreddits purpose was ultimately simple, to badly draw memes. Due to how change is and how repetitive that type of content has become, additions and extras were bound to happen. Such as tropes, trends, game mechanics, and even subreddit related posts. But that in of itself is an abridged shortened version of this communities wide and expansive history. Most of the details about the places inception and how it was throughout most of its time are unfortunately lost media.

Snafus

A snafu in its most simple form is a badly drawn meme. No message, no opinion, just a badly drawn or traced meme. As discussed earlier that has changed to include other meme like topics such as trends, tropes, subreddits, and games. It also now has extras that you are allowed to use when coaxing one of these topics, that being verbosification or simplification of text.

Smuggies

Smuggies are opinionated, strawman arguments, or "I like this, the other bad" type of argument. They're in nature the complete opposite of snafus but that doesn't mean that they are inherently wrong or don't have a right to exist, after all r/smugideologyman exists to house these type of posts.

Snafu ocs

Most commonly used OCs (Mintchan on the left & Murderbeast on the right respectivly) for the past of October, taken from here

When a snafu is created for the oc than it feels Unnatural and forced, when an oc is created for the Snafu than it feels perfectly natural. Examples such as:

And so on and so forth.

There are some exceptions such as characters that aren't ocs but have been reused a ton in the community, such as

So far these four are the only exceptions.
